Founder & Creator of Aprann

Aprann was conceived and built by Heurtelou Jean-Marie in April 2026. Driven by a deep commitment to Haitian Creole literacy and the belief that every adult deserves access to education in their own language, Heurtelou created Aprann as a voice-first digital teacher for the millions of Haitian adults who never had one.

Every line of code, every pedagogical decision, every story, every feedback phrase, and every design choice in Aprann reflects Heurtelou's vision of what a truly accessible literacy tool for Haitian adults should be.

No — that is the entire point. Every button in Aprann speaks aloud when tapped. You can navigate the full app, complete lessons, and get AI feedback entirely by ear. The app was specifically designed for zero-literacy adults.
Core lessons, audio playback, writing exercises, quizzes, and stories all work offline. The AI pronunciation tutor requires an internet connection for real-time feedback.
Haitian Creole is the primary language. French translations are included for vocabulary, but all instructions and feedback are in Kréyòl first.
Yes. Aprann includes a Teacher/NGO Dashboard that tracks progress, sends alerts, and generates class reports. Community Mode allows multiple learners to share one device.
Each learner receives a PDF certificate with a unique verifiable ID. We are working with NGO partners to have these formally recognized.
